President Victor Yushchenko notes positive shift in the subject of children care over the past few years, he said today in Kharkiv at the All-Ukrainian meeting "With love and care to children".

"The politics and the dialogue which we have initiated four years ago, the laws and government decisions taken during this time show that we have found the correct way to address this significant problem for society", he said.

One of the most important steps towards improving the situation Victor Yushchenko called the radical increase in financial aid to parents with newborns. Through such actions, he said, 20% more children were born in Ukraine last year than in 2004. "I have the opportunity and pleasure to say that this program was extremely effective", said Victor Yushchenko.

He drew particular attention to improvement of the demographic situation in Ukraine in recent years. "After three years we can say - one fourth of Ukraine already has a progressive regional demographic dynamics", said Victor Yushchenko, adding that at such a pace in 2015 for the first time Ukraine will have absolute growth of the population.

The President also pointed to effectiveness of the joint project of government and business "Warm a childe with love".

He expressed special gratitude to all those, who contributed to the project. "Business must have a social face", said the President and reminded that today within the framework of the project more than 120 families received new homes, more than 140 families' homes were restored and about 600 families were presented cars.

Separately the President praised revival of patronage of enterprises, institutions and organizations over large and incomplete families. For example in Vinnytsya region all 830 large families, which have 5 or more children, are under such patronage. Victor Yushchenko thanked the representatives of business and all those who supported his initiative, for their charities.

The President also expressed satisfaction with the positive changes that have occurred in adoption, such as the prevalence of domestic adoptions over international etc.. "This is transformation of the moral environment of society," - he believes.

According to Victor Yushchenko in last three years the number of adopted children has increased by almost 46% and as of September 1, 2009 amounted to 1528 children. Particular gratitude he expressed to families, which for the first time in Ukrainian history have adopted children with disabilities (out of 1528 adopted children - 6 were HIV-infected and 7 had disabilities). He ordered the present Heads of Local Administrations, the Minister of Health, etc. "to personally care of these families". "These are people who deserve the honor and provide the example to the society", said Victor Yushchenko.
