Information campaign ‘Every child needs a family!’ launched in Kyiv Oblast
On 16 of February, 2007 information campaign “Every Child Needs A Family” was launched in Kyiv Oblast under the EU Project "Development of Integrated Social Services for Exposed Families and Children".
Its aim is to decrease general number of children placed in state care institutions within Kyiv oblast through raising awareness of general public and local authorities on the benefits of Integrated Social Services for Exposed Families and Children activities.
The objectives are as following:
1) to inform citizens about services’ activity in line with the list of services it provides
2) to create positive image of the services
3) to create positive attitude among the public and encourage them to seek help from services, which are active in regions/towns/villages of Kyiv oblast.
Elaboration of information materials was based on the results of the public opinion research as regards social services activity that was undertaken in Kyiv oblast under the EU Project “Development of Integrated Social Services for Exposed Families and Children. In compliance with recommendations of this research, informational material was worked out and later on it underwent testing in focus groups. This is the general slogan of informational campaign: “Every Child needs a Family!” Dissemination of informational material will take place in accordance with media-plan. EU Project “Development of Integrated Social Services for Exposed Families and Children” pursues object to decrease the number of children placed in state care institutions, to create family based solutions and to improve legislative-legal base on effective social technologies introduction. Nowadays, this can be provided by specialized social services created within the frameworks of the Project. Services began to work in 34 regions and towns of Kyiv oblast.
