    The EU Project “Development of Integrated Social Services for Exposed Families and Children” participated in the exhibition of EU-funded projects in Ukraine


    During the series of three exhibitions which was held from 12 till 26 April 2007 the awareness about the EU project “Development of Integrated Social Services for Exposed Families and Children" activities was raised in three cities of Ukraine – Donetsk, Lviv and Kyiv. The project was selected to participate as one of the most successful. Among the others - 18 projects representing cooperation in the spheres of agriculture, support and development of renewable sources of energy, strengthening regional social services, strengthening civil society, struggle against HIV/AIDS in Ukraine, care for street children, and others.

    The initiative was started by the Delegation of the European Commission to Ukraine and Belarus. The objective of the initiative is to maintain and raise visibility of the EU and EU funded programmes in Ukraine; to increase the awareness to the local public about the EU and bilateral EU-Ukraine relations; to disseminate information about a positive experience of the EU financed programmes and projects and to inform national counterparts and beneficiaries on possibilities of co-operation and participation in the EU-funded programs.

    In Kyiv on April 25-26 the presentation of the EU Project activities took place in the Kyiv House of Cinema (6 Saksahanskoho St.), which hosted an exhibition of EU-funded projects. The exhibition started with a press-conference, opened by the Ambassador Ian Boag, Head of the Delegation of the European Commission to Ukraine. Counterpart Team Leader of the EU Project “Development of Integrated Social Services for Exposed Families and Children” Ms. Vasylyna Dybaylo opened the presentation of the projects, informing the audience on the EU project's aims and activities during the general press-conference. At the same time, printed informational and educational materials developed in the framework of the EU Project “Development of Integrated Social Services for Exposed Families and Children” were presented to the general public in the main exhibition hall. All the interested people could receive from the project staff more detailed information about the project's aims and activities.

    The exhibitions informed university professors, students, government and NGO representatives, and the general public about the EU activities in Ukraine and the results of the EU projects in various spheres of social and economic life, which are implemented in Ukraine.
