International Conference “Integrated Social Services: Experience and Perspectives”

The aim of the conference was to present main achievements of the EU Project in the sector of social work with vulnerable families and children and to discuss further possibilities to replicate new models and approaches of the social services throughout Ukraine.
- The conference agenda included a presentation of the Integrated Social Services model as a mechanism for protecting children’s rights and preventing admissions to residential institutional care
- All aspects of developing a National Action Plan for Children and the National Strategy for Reform of Services for Protection of Children’s Rightsfall fell within the scope of the conference
- Local governors presented the one-shop-stop approach to protect the right of children to grow up in family care in their own communities
- Knowledge and expertise on building the capacities of social work professionals were exchanged
- It also covered the outstanding areas of international experience when translating theory into practice in social services provision for vulnerable children and families
- In addition various reference materials and manuals developed in the framework of the EU Project were presented at the conference. They included assessment and evaluation tools of social work with vulnerable families and children and practical book on integrated social services.
The conference was organized by EveryChild Consortium (main implementer of the EU Project) and State Social Services for Family, Children and Youth and supported by the Ministry of Ukraine of Family Youth and Sport (State Department of Child Rights Protection and Adoption). During the conference key messages were also delivered by the official representatives from the Delegation of European Commission and British Embassy in Ukraine.
