Almost Christmas Story
In the light of the upcoming Christmas holidays the Anglican Community Church in Kyiv gathered for a service, during which they shared a pray for every child well-being in Ukraine. On 2 December 2007 in St. Catherine Church (22 Luteranska Str.) Martin Harris, Deputy Head of Mission and Consul General of the British Embassy in Kyiv held an extraordinary evening service. The congregation, who on the whole are non-Ukrainians, said a prayer for Ukrainian children. They asked for shelters for street children, justice for children in conflict with the law, parents for orphans living in internats, protection for children with disabilities and happiness for all children in Ukraine.
It was Linda McLachlan, one of the British Embassy representatives, who initiated and organized this charitable event. The Anglican community donated also 3,661 UAH to EveryChild Ukraine, which will be used for the most vulnerable families and children in Kyiv oblast.EveryChild Ukraine extends our heartfelt gratitude to everyone who joined the event in the name of Ukrainian children on the eve of Christmas!
