A Child Friendly City will be established in Brovary (Kyiv region)
On the 22nd of April Country Director of EveryChild Ukraine Volodymyr Kuzminskyy and Head of Brovary City Council Viktor Antonenko signed a special agreement on this issue.
According to the document Brovary City Council and EveryChild Ukraine unite their affords in order to fulfil children's rights: protection of right of every child to grow up in a family, prevention of children separation and institutionalisation, development of special services for vulnerable families, family-based forms of care. As a result Brovary should become a city where the voices, needs, priorities and rights of children are an integral part of public policies, programmes and decisions.
Bilateral agreement forsees that contracting parties:
- Develop, agree and implement actions, projects and programmes which consistently promote and protect the rights of all children;
- Porvide contracting parties with information, analytical data on children's and family rights;
- Ensure sufficient monitoring and data collection on the state of children and their rights in terms of round tables, coordination meetings, working groups and etc.;
- Summarize and share the gained experience and best practices and use this basus for further decision-making and development of a child friendly legal framework: ensuring legislation, regulatory frameworks and procedures;
- Twice a year inform the contracting parties on the achieved progress.
