Awards for lawers, help - to children
The 2008 Ukrainian Legal Awards raised more than $ 9000 for the EveryChild Ukraine projects in Kyiv region, showing the growing corporate understanding for social responsibility.
More than 100 professional attended the Annual Legal Awards Ceremony - the most high-profile event in the Ukrainian legal world calendar, hosted in Hayatt Regency Hotel in Kyiv.
Its organisation was led by the editorial board of Newspaper “Yurydychna Praktyka” (Legal Practice), representing the awards' main information sponsor. Each nominee received symbolic souvenirs from EveryChild Ukraine – t-shirts, booklets and wristbands.The evening celebrated the achievements of Ukrainian lawers and at the same time raised money, thus becoming a key home fund-raising opportunity for the on-going work carried out by the EveryChild Ukraine across the Kyiv region, to make a difference to the lives of separated children.
Hosted by popular TV presenter Oleg Panyuta, the event seen nominees in 22 categories applauded. Moreover, apart from the charitable fee for the participants of the evening, Legal Awards raised money for EveryChild Ukraine’s work by holding a charity auction throughought the evening.
Some legal classical books helped raised up to $3000, namely the most popular item of this year’s event was a preprint edition of book “Administrative Justice in Russia” issued in 1910 and written by professor Sergiy Korf.
The money raised from the event will directly impact the lives of the most vulnerable separated children in Kyiv region’s institutions.
EveryChild Ukraine plans to spend these funds for a renovation of a reintegration room in Bila Tserkva baby home. It is envisaged that in this room parents, relatives or future foster parents and babies will be aloud to spend their time on their own, receiving individual attention, playing, drawing and communicating with each other.
