An alternative view on children's rights in Ukraine

Volodymyr Kuzmiskyy, Country Director of  EveryChild Ukraine together with 4 representatives of Ukrainian NGO sector -Mariya Yasenovska (Civic Alternative), Eugeniya Pavlova (Foundation "Children's Rights Protection), Yuriy Pavlenko (Foundation "Children's Rights Protection), Dina Gud (Danish Refugee Council) will present Alternative report on the implementation of the Convention on the Rights of the Child in Ukraine to the UN Committee on the Rights of the Child (Geneva) on June the 14th 2010.

Alternative report is a result of collaboration between experts and professionals from the non-governmental sector working in the sphere of children's rights protection. The report contains an update on the progress in the implementation of the provisions of the Convention made in Ukraine since submission of the Second State Report in 2002 through to the end of 2008. Alternative Report is a response to the Ukraine's Government's latest periodic report submitted to the UNCRC Committee in September 2008.

The report includes a section on children's rights for a family, and also extracts from the EveryChild Ukraine's recent work.
